we did.

Whitney & C.J.

Some stories don't need a big audience to be unforgettable. Ours began with a quiet "I do," celebrated in our own way, on our own timeline. We're so excited to finally share a glimpse into the beginning of our next chapter.

new beginnings

December 21, 2025

On a quiet Sunday afternoon, during the winter solstice, we were married in a private ceremony officiated by Judge Dave Hardy at the University of Charleston, overlooking the West Virginia State Capitol. It was simple, meaningful, and exactly what we envisioned. The symbolism of the season, a time of renewal and new beginnings, made it feel even more fitting. Seven months later, we're finally letting everyone in on our little secret, and we're especially grateful to Judge Hardy for helping us keep it.

our celebration

July 19, 2026

While we skipped the traditional wedding day, we wanted to celebrate this season of our lives in a way that felt true to us. The West Virginia State Capitol has been the backdrop for so many chapters of our lives, both personally and professionally, so it felt like the perfect place to celebrate this one. We returned with our photographer, who also captured our engagement in Lexington, Kentucky, for an intimate editorial-style celebration. We wandered the Capitol grounds, soaked in every moment, and finished the day with a champagne toast outside.

looking ahead

Here's to what's next.

Although we chose to keep our marriage private, please know how thankful we are for the people who've loved and supported us along the way. We look forward to raising a glass, sharing a hug, and celebrating with each of you the next time our paths cross. Your friendship means more to us than you know.

leave a note

Your well wishes mean the world.

If you'd like, we'd love for you to leave us a note, a favorite piece of marriage advice, or simply say hello. Reading your messages will be one of our favorite keepsakes from this season. We've been asked by a few friends and family members if we'd like to share a place for gifts. We already feel incredibly blessed and are so thankful for the life we've built together. If you'd like to help us invest in what's ahead—our future family, home projects, and the next chapter—we've included a link below. Please know there's absolutely no expectation, we're simply grateful you're part of our story.
